Gobi Manchurian

Always wanted to make this and finally did today. It came out quite well. The recipe was taken completely from here –

The only difference was that I didn’t use any corn flour and used a little extra all-purpose flour instead. You really can use any flour to do this in my opinion. Also I didn’t have spring onions so I used regular onions. That apart the recipe works well.

The sauce is the key to the whole thing .. otherwise it’s just fried cauliflower which might be tasty on its own but it’s not the same unless the sauce is used. Depending on whether you want it sweet, sour or spicy .. adjust the concentration of the sauces. The sweetish Tomato sauce seemed to dominate the other sauces.. so if you want it spicy add more chilly sauce and less tomato sauce.

Experiment with different combinations. I wish there was a way to roast this instead of frying it – it takes up far too much oil. It’s very tasty though for sure 🙂
